Canada Pension Plan/Old Age Security Review Tribunals

The Review Tribunals are panels of three people appointed by the Governor in Council that hear and adjudicate appeals of decisions by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada on applications for various benefits under the Canada Pension Plan and the Old Age Security Act.

The Chairperson of the Tribunal must be a lawyer who is a member in good standing of a bar of a province/territory and a community member also sits on the panel. The majority of appeals pertain to disability benefits. For those appeals, at least one of the panel members must be a health care professional who is qualified to practice medicine or a prescribed related health profession in a province/territory.

An inventory resulting from this process will be compiled and may be used to fill current and future vacancies.

Applications will remain available for consideration for one year following the date of receipt.

Remuneration:
Per diem rate for each hearing day: $400
