Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) – Youth Employment Strategy (YES) Program - Synopsis

When to Apply

The application period for Canada Summer Jobs 2012 is closed. The deadline for applications was February 29, 2012; applications received or postmarked after the closing date will not be assessed.

Canada Summer Jobs provides funding to help employers create summer job opportunities for students between the ages of 15 and 30. It is designed to focus on local priorities, while achieving tangible results for both students and their communities.

Canada Summer Jobs is about:

  • providing work experiences for students;
  • supporting organizations, including those that provide important community services; and
  • recognizing that local circumstances, community needs, and priorities vary widely.

Canada Summer Jobs encourages not-for-profit organizations, public sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to create jobs that not only meet their needs, but also benefit students looking to gain work experience.

Who Can Apply

Eligible Employers:

  • non-for-profit organizations;
  • public sector employers; and,
  • private sector employers with 50 or fewer full-time employees across Canada. Full-time employees are those working 30 hours or more per week with the employer.
