Members of Visible Minorities

The Employment Equity Act defines members of visible minorities as people, other than Aboriginal peoples, who are non-Caucasian in race or non-white in colour.

The Act includes members of visible minorities as a designated group because they have faced—and continue to face—barriers to employment.

The following links provide recent statistics on members of visible minorities, highlights from the Employment Equity Act Annual Report and additional resources related to the employment of members of visible minorities.
