We all spend a considerable portion of our day in the workplace. Ensuring that workplaces are safe is important to our country’s well-being and to the performance of its economy. It is every employee’s right to work in a safe and healthy environment.
The Labour Program is committed to workplace safety in the federal public service and in private sector workplaces under federal jurisdiction. With highly trained health and safety officers, and regional offices bordering all three coasts, the Labour Program works directly with employers and workers. This is how the Program ensures that legislation and regulations on occupational health and safety are respected and also how it provides information on improving health and safety in organizations.
