Minister Raitt celebrates North American Occupational Safety and Health Week 2012

Toronto, Ontario, May 7, 2012 - The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada’s Labour Minister, participates in the Canadian launch of North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week at the Morningside campus of Centennial College in Toronto. The event was held in collaboration with the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE), the CSSE Toronto Chapter, the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, Threads of Life, the Governments of Canada and Ontario, as well as the American Society of Safety Engineers.

Government of Canada announces new initiative to protect workers’ long-term disability benefits

Government of Canada introduces legislation to protect the Canadian economy

Ottawa, Ontario, March 12, 2012 - The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada’s Labour Minister, addresses media on the tabling of legislation to protect the Canadian economy and Canadian families. The legislation, titled “An Act to provide for the continuation and resumption of air service operations”, would prevent a work stoppage at Air Canada.

Canada’s Labour Minister speaks to attendees at an Economic Club of Canada luncheon
