This project will engage students in the exploration of a significant environmental issue: the management of continental water supplies in a variety of contexts, including the impacts of global warming. In addition to international exchanges, a series of forums on water source development and management will provide opportunities for students to enhance their knowledge and understanding of key social, political and economic issues in this field.

This project will develop a unique interdisciplinary approach to understanding the relationship between the environment, sustainable communities, and civil/civic society in North America. The goal is to prepare students for better decision-making through the development of related knowledge and the acquisition of skills for successful careers in civil and community studies. The project partners will collaborate to develop a student exchange framework and a shared curriculum leading to a joint international certificate.

The purpose of this health care education project is to prepare Canadian students to address the challenges of chronic illness care with a focus on regional and community delivery. On-line collaborative course work and inter-country dialogue will prepare students for their nursing practice. Service learning (classroom with field work) programs that reflect an awareness of local and regional diversity will contribute to a positive impact on the health of North American communities.

This project will address critical issues affecting rural sustainability through the development of collaborative ties among participating institutions. The consortium partners will exchange students in several disciplines with a focus on seeking social, political, economic and technical solutions to the problems of rural communities. Included is the development of web-based courses that introduce engineering, natural science and social science students to global and local rural sustainability issues.

The project will promote student exchanges and develop a curriculum on regionalism, migration and security within North America, from an interdisciplinary perspective. Participating students in various disciplines including political science, economics, geography and communications, will enhance their knowledge of North American regional issues through accredited study at partner institutions and receive certification in North American Studies.

The purpose of this project is to better prepare undergraduate and graduate Canadian students to participate in global business management by providing opportunities for increasing their knowledge-base and experience in commercial relationships, tourism, and human resources among the NAFTA countries. The partner institutions will develop a student exchange framework to provide international learning and field placement opportunities as well as develop and enhance internationalized curriculum.

The project aims to broaden the understanding of students in the principles of sustainable tourism management in North America, with a focus on interlinked issues of sustainability and cultural awareness. Exchanges among the partner institutions will provide opportunities for students to identify best practices in sustainable management, gain experiential learning experiences, as well as improve language acquisition and cross-cultural understanding. Videoconferencing will broaden participation to include non-mobile students at the partner schools.

The partner institutions will collaborate on the creation and integration of a program focused on entrepreneurship, language and culture. The focus is on the professional preparation of future business leaders within the global markets of North America. Participating students will have the opportunity to work with entrepreneurial businesses in a global setting, acquiring the skills necessary to serve as a resource to entrepreneurs. New curricula will provide students with the tools and knowledge necessary to serve excluded populations within their regions.
