Post-Secondary Education and Training Online Consultation

As part of Budget 2006 commitments to work towards resolving the fiscal balance with provincial and territorial governments, the Minister of HRSDC was asked to consult with provinces and territories on objectives, roles and accountability for post-secondary education (PSE) and training. The Minister was also interested in hearing the views of Canadians on these questions. In the Summer 2006, the Department held an on-line consultation as part of a broader consultation exercise led by Finance Canada on fiscal balance.

Participants were asked to share their views on a number of themes:

  • Objectives for post-secondary education (PSE) and training
  • Clarifying roles and responsibilities in PSE and training
  • Developing a framework for ensuring measurable results and accountability

HRSDC would like to thank all the individuals and stakeholder organizations who participated in the on-line consultation.
