Foreign Credential Recognition
The FCR Program will improve the integration of internationally trained workers into the work force by working with key stakeholders to implement projects that will facilitate the assessment and recognition of qualifications acquired outside of Canada.
What is foreign credential recognition?
Foreign Credential Recognition is the process of verifying that the education and job experience obtained in another country are equal to the standards established for Canadian workers.

- CIC and HRSDC have updated the Going to Canada Immigration portal to incorporate new content and interactive tools.
- The Going to Canada Portal is a website, developed in partnership with Citizenship and Immigration Canada. HRSDC's section of the portal, called Working in Canada helps prospective and new immigrants learn more about Canada's labour market and the steps involved in finding a job in Canada.
- The Working in Canada Tool helps prospective and new immigrants prepare for employment in Canada by providing labour market reports tailored to a specific occupation and geographic area (city, town or region).
